Quick cover.

Back to sleep I go! I thought I had work at 10 AM, but it turns out I have it at 6 tonight. Isn't that interesting?
I'll leave you with a shoddy Panda Bear cover I did in 10 minutes. I have a throat infection. The microphone was sort of fucked up so there's some background hiss. Sorry.

mysterious letter to 'arran'

Um, so to make a long and stupid story short; I went to Toronto last week to meet up with some friends and got so drunk at the bar that I blacked out for about 4 hours (due to making the shitty mistake of drinking within 24 hours of taking piracetam), left the bar, and ended up at Union Station around 6 AM. I have no recollection whatsoever of what transpired during these ghost hours which is both scary and upsetting to me. Later that morning I found a strange letter in my backpack penned to someone with a similar name to mine.
See for yourselves:

Instead of actually solving the mystery of who these people are, and how I can into possession of this letter, I figure I will take the 'creative route' and write a conceptual song about the relationship between these two people and all the rough times they endured over the past seven years. Maybe I can get Lady Gaga to do a spoken word on it. Maybe I should stop drinking.

ambient and noise cassette download.

For the past month or so I've been working on an idea I had to fill an entire 90-minute cassette tape entirely with music, which I juuuuuuust finished. I only ended up making 23 copies of the tape due to financial limitations and laziness but I thought it'd be FUN to post it here for anyone who's interested, whoever you are.
Even though the tape isn't meant to have 'songs' or anything separating the seamless flow of music, I divided the digital version into individual tracks on two separate .zip folders for each side.
The whole thing was really fun to make, and I got to use a bunch of different ideas and recording techniques that I hadn't had the chance to use before. A lot of it is pretty primitive and you can tell I got a better sense of what I was doing towards the end of the tape. LEARNING WOOO.

Extermination Music Night XI

Last Saturday night / Sunday morning some friends are I were guests and participants in a 600-person strong art/music event called Extermination Music Night, hosted in the abandonned Kodak Factory in Toronto. There were a bunch of bands playing in the buildings gymnasium, and a whole bunch of different artists had miniature exhibits set up in old room and offices of the building; the whole thing was totally fucking incredible and inspirational. Two people actually brought their own power generator and powered up a room and began to act as if they were employees, work clothes and all. Crazy shit. The building was the perfect environment for this kind of event. Unfortunately, around 3 AM, about 60 OPP cops came and stormed the whole place and kicked all of us out. I got shoved around by this one dick cop a few times while trying to actually make my way outside...I guess we were sort of asking for it, what with the trespassing and all.
I took some video/pictures, but they don't really come close to doing justice to the feel of the whole thing.
