Coma Cinema remix
Since being suddenly thrust into online music culture after the release of my first collection of songs last year, Mat Cothran has become one of the nearest and dearest people that I have had the pleasure of being introduced to because of this scene. His music and character prove to be two constants of inspiration and reassurance in my life, and being offered the chance to remix one of his songs was something I couldn’t turn down. Because of important place where Coma Cinema’s music sits in my life, trying to finish this project was nothing short of difficult, but after several false starts, I’m nervously content with where it now sits. Hope you enjoy it!
The artwork I used is a photo I took from the backseat of a car while touring Ontario with some friends earlier this year. I used the other half of the same photograph when designing the poster for the ongoing Coma Cinema tour.
Contains samples from ‘Dagger Bones’ by Los Halos and ‘Red Death at 6:14’ by The White Stripes.
Listen / download at Altered Zones.

I'm going to start posting more of my film photography on my three years-neglected flickr account from now on.
Hope everyone is doing fine. Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Good news coming soon.

I'm thrilled to be taking off on the road with Memoryhouse for a few show in the states right before we get back to Toronto for NxNE. Hope to see your lovely faces there!
Also, in a weird and unexpected turn, I was contacted by Washington City Paper about this fyler and it's design a day after I posted it on my tumblr. Check it out here.

A case of you.
This has been one of my favourite songs since I was young and to hear James Blake do such an incredible rendition of it is pretty life affirming.

Raw Moans remix.
Last night I finished a remix of a song called Aqua Net by one of my favourite bands, Raw Moans. I sampled a song from Twin Peaks (that happened to be in the exact same key but in a different time) and a Deerhunter song called Vox Humana for it. It's my first attempt at a remix.
Please support Raw Moans by downloading and listening to their EP "We Want it Beautiful Not Real".
Listen to / download the remix from my Bandcamp thing:

I will also be playing as a supporting member of Memoryhouse (which I'm really really happy about). Here are the shows we'll be playing under said name:
See you there!

Dope Valley Fuck compilation.
Hey y'all. I was asked by the good folks at Crash Symbols to contribute a track to their latest compilation which I completed last night in a few hours. The original track is by my good friend Ben who goes by the name Trans-Bedroom Sound. You can listen to it and the rest of this great collection of songs below or at their Bandcamp.

New Digital 7"
FOXES IN FICTION - HOSPITAL DISTRICT / STATIC CULTS DIGITAL 7"
Total time: 12:16
Recorded: Early February 2011
1. HOSPITAL DISTRICT (4:29)
2. STATIC CULTS (7:17)
As a personal celebration of the one year anniversary of the initial self-release of Swung from The Branches, I'm giving away this free pair of mostly instrumental songs that I recorded using a digital four track and my computer while recovering from a prolonged illness that affected me for about 5 weeks, lasting just up until a few days ago. I made these songs in an attempt to get back my energy, health and motivation back and to give something away to everyone who's been there to support Foxes in Fiction over the past year, I owe everything to you guys!
The artwork is a double exposure film photo that I took some time in 2008.

Flashing Lights Have Ended Now lyrics
A few people in the past couple of weeks have asked me for these and I don't think I've posted them anywhere else , so hurr dey are -
--
Flashing lights have ended now, no more of those days
Days when we could let it show, cut it up and watch them grow
Only found in photographs, the feeling haunts the past
The silence walks between us, the silence seems to last
So lay back down if you wake up and lay it out to dry
I've been trapped in parking lots wishing I could fake a smile
I will learn to grow detached, I will realize
All the time we spent inside, changing colour of eyes
Your words harness energy, I've seen it in the past
But I've got something different, something that will last
And looking back in photographs, the basement held a light
Candles set by steady hands, show our faces to the night
Can we change the we way we feel, did you say "don't look back"?
Sunday morning's looking up, the night has gone, the sun comes back

But I'm going to post some new neat things soon. I hope everyone is doing well and surviving winter in their own little ways.
